Here is the Scenario: You ran a truss and notice the loading is wrong. You make a change to your job settings and rerun the truss but the truss is not picking up the change?
Here is the Solution: Check your Load Engineering Truss Options location in Settings\User Preferences. These settings allow you to determine how you want the program to respond when you select an existing saved engineered truss from the truss list in TrusCAD.
- Always use the Analysis and Plating settings from Job Settings: For the occasion when you wish to rerun an existing truss, or trusses saved in an existing job through the engineering analysis, select this option when you want the analysis to be based on the current Job Setting
- Always use the Analysis and Plating settings of current truss: For the occasion when you wish to rerun an existing truss, or trusses saved in an existing job through the engineering analysis, select this option when you want the analysis to be based on the settings the truss was originally engineered and saved with.
- Always prompt with Options: For the occasion when you wish to rerun a truss, or trusses saved in an existing job through the engineering analysis and you want VIEW to detect if there is a difference in the Job Settings from the last time the truss had been analyzed and saved, select Always prompt with Options to activate the Load Truss Options dialog window. The options in this dialog window provide you with the opportunity to decide which settings to use on a truss-by-truss basis.
If you have Always use the Analysis and Plating settings of current truss then the program will not pick up the change you are making in your job settings. You will either need to change the setting to Always use the Analysis and Plating settings from Job Settings or go to Truss\Truss Properties to make the change to the loading for that truss.
