Issue:
When starting VisionRez, an error comes up saying that a connection was successfully established with the server but then an error occurred during the login process……No Process is on the other end of the pipe. How can this error be fixed?
Solution:
Restart your computer and check again to see if the error comes up. If the error comes up, check if you have the SQL service components turned on. They should show as started and automatic. To confirm, you will need to go to Start> Control Panel>administrative tools> Services. You may also get there by opening the Task Manager (Alt+Ctrl+Delete keys on the keyboard) > Services tab > Open Services. Please note the following;
- SQL Active Directory Helper Service is set as Automatic Only
- SQL Server (SQLVISIONREZ) is set as Started and Automatic
- SQL Server Agent (SQLVISIONREZ) is set as Automatic
- SQL Server Browser is set as Started and Automatic
- SQL Server VSS Writer is set as Started and Automatic
If you had VisionRez installed before or if you get the error attached, you will need to navigate to the following folder;
Windows 7, 8, and 10
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\ Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Data
Delete the SQLVISIONREZ Folder or move it away from this location
Note: The SQLVISIONREZ folder may be located in another folder within the Microsoft SQL Server Data
Launch VisionRez
NOTE: The SQLVISIONREZ folder will be recreated if SQL pipe is successful
