Often you will find that architects will insert blocks of information into a CAD drawing that need to be exploded in order for them to be imported into iModel. iModel can’t read externally referenced pieces of information.
When you import a dwg/dxf into iModel and some information is missing from the drawing it may be because it is an external reference that needs to be bind to the drawing.
To check if there are any external references in a drawing you can open the dwg/dxf in NanoCAD and click on the External Reference icon located on the Alpine toolbar.
Here you will see a list of external references. To bind them to the current drawing right click on each item and select Bind.
Blocks: A block can be created and inserted in a drawing as many times as you need. Blocks are used to create elements of drawings which are used many times, to simplify and speed up the drawing process.
