NOTE: You will have to request the security driver fix folder from a helpdesk team member before attempting resolution of this issue.
NOTE: Close out of all instances of Alpine software before starting any step.
This error may appear:
Error Message: Security Initialization Failed: Network: Reply from the network driver is bad.)
Alpine currently uses crypkey license to authorize use of software. There are a couple of issues that can arise when updating site keys. One issue is that the site code box will appear blank as shown below.
When this happens the software is experiencing issues within the security drivers, this issue can be resolved by following these steps:
Step one: Navigate to Task manager > Services and "stop" Crypkey License.
Step 2: Open the security driver fix folder provided by Helpdesk and double click the "bat" file shown below.
This will run a CMD window to attempt deletion of security driver files, this does not always work so you will have to manually search and delete the following files.
ckconfig.exe
ckrfresh.exe
setup_ck.dll
setup_ck.exe
ckldrv.sys
crypserv.exe
esnecil.ind
If you cannot find or delete the files just continue.
Step 3: Reboot the computer.
Step 4: Navigate to the provided security folder and double click "SetupEX.exe" file.
This will re-add all necessary security driver files. Once this has ran you will be able to relaunch your software and navigate to the "site key" location and your site code will now appear so you can re-authorize your software.
